Our schools

Bygrove is a great little one-form entry primary school serving a multicultural community in London’s historic East End. We have been a National Teaching School since 2013, working with alliance partners to train the next generation of outstanding teachers. We may be small but we think big!

Our pupils are at the heart of what we do. They are happy, friendly and well-behaved and they love learning. How do we do it? There’s no big secret – we work hard at doing the right things and we get help from our friends. Aiming high is our motto and the sky’s the limit!

“Teaching is outstanding and makes a significant contribution to pupils’ exceptional rates of progress. Pupils greatly enjoy their learning because the work is stimulating and well matched to their needs.

The curriculum is very well thought out so that pupils from all backgrounds can enjoy learning, achieve outstandingly well and gain many skills for their wider personal development. Classrooms glisten with wonderful displays and computers enhance greatly the quality of learning. Residential visits, Spanish days, enterprise projects and inputs from specialist teachers for physical education and music, play a significant part in promoting pupils’ spiritual, moral and social development.”

Stebon is a fabulous large primary school serving a multicultural community near Canary Wharf and London’s East End. Our premises provide bright, spacious and comfortable learning environments for pupils and include London’s first sustainable ‘Passivhaus’ school building.

Our pupils are the beating heart of the school. They work hard, look after each other and they love coming to school. They are successful learners and do it all with a smile on their face.

With strong support from parents and the most dedicated and committed staff team in London, Stebon School is going places; moving steadily from strength to strength.

What Ofsted said:

“Pupils are excited to come to school every day. Parents and carers typically told us that their children do not want to leave after each school day. This is because they enjoy the contagious buzz of learning around the school. Pupils and adults show a genuine love for learning. As a result, pupils in this school achieve highly.

Pupils respond well to adults’ high expectations of them. They said they like lessons at school because they are challenging. Leaders and teachers always push them to learn and achieve more.

Pupils’ behaviour is exemplary. They behave well in and out of lessons. Adults spoke of how respectful the pupils are. Visitors often compliment them on their behaviour. Pupils are highly motivated and focus on their learning.

Members of staff show genuine affection for the pupils in their care. Many of them told us that they love working in this school. They also appreciate the support they get from their leaders to ensure that their workload is manageable.”
